In addition to her leather skills Mary is also a Whip Maker, having learned these traditional whip making skills under past Master Whip Maker- Dennis Whalmsley.

Mary was awarded the prestigious Queen Elizabeth Scholarship (QEST) which allowed her to take her leather skills to new heights, training in traditional whip making with renowned Master Whip Maker Dennis Whalmsley. Today Mary is passionate about preserving this endangered heritage craft.
